Jenny Bradshaw, Director

Jenny brings a wealth of experience, warmth, and enthusiasm to her role as Director of First Friends. She has a deep affection for young children, and has dedicated her life to creating nurturing learning environments for our earliest learners. Raised in Marin County, she received her BA from the University of Washington in Education, Learning, and Societies and Communication, and later pursued a Master’s degree in Educational Therapy at Notre Dame de Namur University where she has studied individualized intervention strategies to promote learning on an academic, psycho-educational, and socio-emotional level. She brings a range of practical experiences to this position, from working in preschool and elementary school classrooms as a teacher, designing and implementing individualized preschool curriculum, running home-based pods for early learners, as well as working with babies in daycare settings. Along the way, on a parallel track, Jenny worked as a project manager on large-scale, international, and corporate events. She is thrilled to bring her organizational, leadership, and project management to bear on her role as Director, where she can channel these skills toward what she is most passionate about - supporting our youngest learners. When not at work, Jenny enjoys gardening in her yard, cooking for her family, and spending time at home with her daughter, husband, and dog.

Why Families Choose Us

Our home environment: This is the first classroom introduction for our young students and one, that we hope will provide a lasting foundation of positive experiences to support a lifetime of learning. We believe that young children learn best in a warm, comfortable and relaxed home setting — lovingly and thoughtfully reconfigured to suit the needs of a school.

Our teachers: Our gifted teachers are certified in using Dr. Montessori's methods and materials to guide each child in developing unique abilities within a carefully planned curriculum. Our goal is to provide the learning experiences that allow children to develop the skills to become successful learners in the classroom, and more importantly, to develop important life-long skills such as self-confidence, independence, self-respect and compassion.

Our community: We only take a maximum of 24 students. This allows us to better serve our belief in creating a warm, comfortable, home-like setting where students thrive. And this allows us to better create a warm and caring community in which children — and adults — find friendships and support in a close-knit family.

Our authentic Montessori program: Our goal is to make learning fun so we can truly inspire a child's individual curiosity... because we believe within each child is the person they will become.
